Hi, my name is Aisha Pectyo, a research librarian and interdisciplinary artist working across digital humanities, metadata, and visual storytelling. My research explores how computational methods can be used to study qualitative and cultural materials, with a particular focus on representation, illustrated media, and the ways people encounter information through images.
Alongside my scholarly work, I create detailed paper-based artwork inspired by folklore, miniature environments, cultural memory, and everyday ritual. Drawing from both handcrafted and computational practices, my work moves between digital scholarship and tactile storytelling, combining research, illustration, and material craft to build layered narrative worlds.
Across both research and art, I am interested in how stories are organized, preserved, interpreted, and shared. Whether through metadata systems, visual analysis, or handmade compositions, my work centers on creating meaningful ways for people to connect with culture, memory, and one another.
